Hint: The Little Bowl at the Security Checkpoint Is for Metal Objects, Not Drugs

Not a great idea to bring marijuana with you to the courthouse, but if you must, you should at least be aware that at least in Texas it is still illegal to possess it.  And so you should not, for example, put a bag of it in the bowl that security guards give you when you are about to go through the metal detector.  That is for metal objects only.  It is not for drugs.

A 19-year-old Texas man was reminded of this on October 1 when he handed over a bag of pot as he was about to pass through a security checkpoint at Taylor County Courthouse.  Luckily for him, even when you do this at a courthouse, and even when that courthouse is in Texas, it is still only a Class B misdemeanor.  It is, however, Class A dumb.
