Huang v. Hollywood

Here’s the first page of the opinion in Huang v. Hanks, in which the California Court of Appeal disposed of 31 separate appeals by Mr. Huang against a variety of celebrities. The opinion is only six pages long, but this first page, specifically the footnote, is really all you need.

My source stated that he “probably would have let Huang v. Cruise go forward,” and I would agree with that. I would also probably have given Huang v. West and Huang v. Bay the benefit of the doubt. But surely any case against the Dalai Lama (whose last name isn’t actually “Lama”) is frivolous, and doing anything to piss off Liam Neeson just seems like a really bad idea. His lawyers probably have a very particular set of litigation skills.
