An Oregon woman is suing her former doctor for battery, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, alleging that he prescribed sexual intercourse in response to her claims of lower-back pain. The doctor, who filled the prescription himself, charged the state health-care plan $5,000 for the series of 45-minute treatments. He lost his license and went to jail last year for that, and now is being sued by his patient for $4 million.
The report did not mention whether the woman’s lower-back pain was in fact cured, but note that she is not suing him for malpractice.
