Zachary Christie, the 6-year-old who was suspended recently after bringing a camping utensil to school, has been granted a reprieve.
Christie was facing 45 days in the big house for allegedly violating the school district's "zero-tolerance" policy towards possible weapons. But on Tuesday, the school board backed down and voted unanimously to reduce the punishment for kindergartners and first-graders from 45 to 5 days, essentially meaning that Christie got away with time served. (Second-graders and up will still face harsh justice.)
Christie is now free to rejoin his gang, known as the "Cub Scouts," for further mayhem.
